Mesa Mexicana
Mesa Mexicana is a straightforward cookbook focussing on Mexican cuisine, written by two popular cooks who once had their own cooking show.
The recipes I have tried from the book worked out fine; the results were pretty average, which is how I feel about the book. It just isn’t very exciting, with childish drawings and simple recipes.
My take on this book may be skewed because I bought another book at the same time as this, ‘Texas Home Cooking’, which I have also reviewed. That book was so exciting, easily-readable, with brilliant recipes that frankly ‘Mesa Mexicana’ suffered by comparison; I haven’t given much time to ‘Mesa Mexicana’ since.
If you really want to explore Mexican cooking, I would recommend you pick up ‘Texas Home Cooking’ before this one.
