Granola Bar News!

Come and get ’em!

We have resisted increasing the price of our granola bars twice in the last year, even though key ingredients have gone up in price. However we have just discovered that CRA puts our granola bars in a different class than our other baking, and we must now remit GST on our sales of these. Sigh…..

So – after this weekend – a package of 3 granola bars will increase, from $6 to $6.50. We will also be packaging single serve bars for $2.50 each.

We will hold the old price of $6 for 3 bars through this weekend, and to THANK ALL OUR LOYAL CUSTOMERS – we will give a bag for $5 to any member of the farmers market (show your membership card at our booth), or to any member of our loyalty program. If you have not yet signed up to get your sweet savings let us know at the market that you want to be our Taste Buddy. You will receive 5% credit on every Sweet Thea purchase and be eligible for specials like this week’s amazing Granola Bar deal. See our calendar to find us near you!

Come Dine with Us

“One cannot think well, love well, sleep well, if one has not dined well” – Virginia Woolf, a Room of One’s Own.

Food is not something we merely consume to function, rather we have the privilege to enjoy every bite, whether we do so alone in a state of reflection, at a feast with friends and relatives, or during a romantic evening with your love. Good, quality food leaves us satisfied.  And since the best is saved for last, dessert should never be lacking in palate or excellence.

The concept of dedication to quality takes me back to the movie Kate and Leopold. Leopold is an English Aristocrat who travels in time from the year 1876 to 2001, England to New York. The story highlights how the modern day lifestyle, with regards to food, has traded in dedication to quality and satisfactory taste for chemically altered, culinary disasters. Leopold enlightens Kate on his view of dining when he says, “Where I come from, the meal is the result of reflection and study, menus are prepared in advance, timed to perfection.  It is said, without the culinary arts the crudeness of reality would be unbearable.”

Well, thankfully you don’t have to travel back to 1876 to experience food the way it was meant to be, simple, fresh, and made from scratch. Dedication to quality, careful planning, and attention to detail are all alive and well at Sweet Thea Bakery. The result? Palate pleasing culinary art that is Simply Better.

And now for the first time you can see a glimpse into our Bakery Family with this short video put together by the talented Jenna Paige. Music by …  You see the quality. We are Simply Better. So next time you are in the market for catering, wedding cakes or sweets, come dine with us.
