About Sweet Thea
A European trained pastry chef & chocolatier, Thea (pronounced Tay-ah) has been creating dream cakes and delicious hand-made chocolates for over 15 years.
Most recently Pastry Chef at Vancouver’s most prestigious private Club, Thea previously was Pastry Chef at the world-renowned Sooke Harbor House, regarded as one of the top 10 restaurants in the world, and highly-acclaimed for its exclusive use of locally harvested raw foods; Cioppino’s, with current Chef of the Year Pino Posterero; and several other world-class restaurants.
Throughout her career, Thea had always most enjoyed designing wedding cakes, creating edible art which will live forever in photographs and memories. Demand grew as more and more people learned about her fabulous cakes, prompting the launch of the Sweet Thea Cake Company in 2006.
Thea, passionate about the art of fine pastry, will create a vision that reflects your style – contemporary, traditional, or anything in between. Thea works one on one with you to ensure that every cake is a unique creation, perfectly coordinated with the menu, theme, flowers, style and colour scheme of your celebration.
Thea is assisted in the day-to-day operations of the Sweet Thea bakery by her partner Laurie.
